Imagine a world filled with adventure - trees to climb, places to dig, gardens to explore and bugs to find. Welcome to Peppercorn Child Care and Pre-School, where children are simply encouraged to be 'children. Family owned and operated with a passion for high quality education and care; we believe that learning occurs best through play and a child led exploration of their own interests and ideas. When children are offered extended and uninterrupted time they thrive; creating their own imaginary worlds in which to build, explore and create. We view the environment as the third teacher and provide spaces that are reflective of the importance of open play opportunities. We give children the opportunity to assess risk and make real, meaningful choices; to test a branch before they climb, problem solve as they build and hold tight before they swing. When children test their own boundaries in thrilling play they develop self-confidence and resilience. They learn to challenge their bodies. Through active play children engage to find balance and regulate emotions to find calmness and focus. We strive to provide sustainable play spaces that promote a sense of wonder, learning, conversation and the creativity that comes with loose parts. The same loose parts that provide the materials to create cubby houses, fire pits and make mud pies. Here they create memories that will last a lifetime. We actively participate in the wider community to nurture a sense of belonging in the world. We visit parks, farms and bushland and contribute to our local community garden. Here they are part of something bigger. We provide a learning program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework that is child focused, fun and educational; preparing children for formal schooling. We engage with children and offer opportunities to explore programs including Jolly Phonics, Munch and Move, PALS- Play and Learning Skills, Early Learning Languages Australia and Cultural Support Programs such as Ngroo. We embrace opportunities to participate in projects, such as the Early Learning STEM Australia pilot, welcoming the introduction of new concepts and skills. Here at Peppercorn Child Care and Preschool, Early Childhood Education is the foundation for lifelong learning.
